How to measure - patio/single sliding screen - kit
How to measure
When ordering, you will require 3 measurements, as per the diagram, to enable you to choose a kit size. The same dimensions are required whether you are selecting the face fitted or reveal fitted option.
W1 - width of track
This is the "end to end" track measurement. This can be the full width of the door frame or less if skirting overlaps the frame.
H - total height of system
This is the measurement from the bottom of the bottom track to the top of the top track. For information if you select the face fitted Z track option the face of the track that attaches to your door frame is 12mm from top to bottom. (See drawing on product images)
W2 - width of the screen required
This will be the width of the screen which will overlap the door frame on one side and the middle bar on the other,
As long as W1, H & W2 are within the measurements specified for a kit, that kit will be the correct kit for you e.g. if W1 = 1900mm, H = 2020 and W2 = 950mm then the smaller kit (1980mm x 2040mm x 990mm) is the kit you require.
Please note: No matter which fixing option you choose, this screen is designed to be fitted on the same side as your fixed pane (be that internal or external). The seal is created by the sliding panel against your door frame so the screen requires a continuous flat surface around the door frame to allow it to slide freely. If the surface is not flat, or your door handle protrudes past the surrounding framework causing an obstruction, you may need to build up to a level surface or create a sub-frame to mount the screen. You can use wooden batten or uPVC lengths to do this. If you need advice please call us.
