Window Pet Screens are a great way to let fresh air in to your home and keep your pets safe. They have the added advantage of keeping insects out as well. Screening can be tricky to start with - windows come in all shapes and sizes and there are many types of pet screen - but the investment will be worth it once your screens are doing their job.

What types of window pet screen are there?

We have a variety of screen types, some are designed for specific window styles and others are suitable for more than one window style. Here is an overview of each type of screen

Framed window pet screen - as the name suggests, this screen is made in the shape of a rectangular or square aluminium frame (a bit like a picture frame) and fitted with a pet resistant mesh. This sort of screen is generally placed onto the window frame to cover the open space when the window is open. Fixing options include magnetic, hinge or turn button.

Twin sliding window pet screen - this screen is similar to the secondary glazing concept. An outer frame/track is fitted into the window reveal and two framed pet mesh screens fit into the frame. Each screen covers half the width of the window with an overlap in the middle to create a seal. Both screens slide aside to allow access to the window.

How do I measure?

The way you measure will depend on the product you choose. Each product has a measuring guide which is reached by selecting the "How to Measure" tab on the top right hand side of the product page. Many products also have "how to" videos to take you through measuring and other product options.

Do pet Screens block the light?

Pet Screens will reduce the light to a certain degree, however they still allow a good level of light and airflow when fitted. Inevitably there is a trade off between the thicker mesh and reduced light/airflow but we find the screens we offer work well for our customers and their pets.

Can your screens be fitted to the outside of a building?

Yes - all screens have powder coated aluminium frames and weatherproof mesh and fixings so they can be fitted internally or externally.

What is pet mesh ?

This mesh is designed especially for use in Pet Screens. A strong scratch-resistant Polyester woven material that keeps pets in and insects out! Ideal for cats, dogs, birds and other pets. Available in Grey or Black

Examples of insects this mesh will keep out are: Bees & Wasps, Bluebottles, Cluster Flies, Crane Flies. Daddy-Long-Legs, House Flies, Hornets, Ladybirds, Mosquitoes, Moths, Butterflies, Spiders
