Hinged Solar Screens for French Doors (DIY Kit)

Are your rooms too hot in summer? Keep your French Doors open, reduce heat and keep insects out with this highly effective French Door Solar Screen.

This kit will make a high quality fly screen to fit a set of French Doors. fitted with our tried and tested SunTex® mesh. These screens will block up to 80% of the sun’s heat and about 75% of the UV whilst allowing fresh air to flow into your room. And they stop those annoying insects as well

Steel hinges allow easy opening and closing, with the option to lift the screen off and store during the cooler months. Discrete handles to both sides of the screen allow easy access from inside and out. Magnetic catches hold the screen in the closed position.

You can choose a White or Anthracite Grey frame and we also offer a colour coating service if you need to match a specific paint colour.

This screen represents a wise investment if you are looking for a good long-term solution rather than a cheap short-term fix. The frames will last for many years and the mesh can easily be replaced if needed.

The kit is supplied with all necessary screen materials, fixings, a spline tool for fitting the mesh and a set of instructions. Most importantly - we are the end of the phone if you need help.

Please note: To make this screen you will need to mitre-cut the aluminium frames using a mitre box and good hacksaw or preferably a mitre saw. Construction also requires measuring, drilling, and screwing so we would not recommend this kit for DIY beginners. If DIY is not for you, we have a made to measure option which you can select below.

How does this screen work?

The twin door screens are fitted directly to your door frame with steel lift off hinges to either side and magnetic catches top and bottom. Adhesive pile completes the seal between the doors. When you open your doors, you close the screen to cover the opening.
