Window Fly Screen - Heavy Duty Framed (DIY Kit)

Whether you need to comply with Food Safety Regulations, or want to create an insect free working environment, this screen does the job.

With this kit you can make a good quality, heavy duty, framed fly screen. The mesh is effective at keeping flies, wasps, bees, mosquitoes, spiders & other insects out whilst maintaining excellent airflow and minimal reduction in daylight. Ideal for all commercial environments such as kitchens, restrooms, restaurants, and offices.

If you're based in the Highlands of Scotland, you can choose our Genuine 30 x 20 Midge Mesh to keep those midges out. A word to the wise if we may, don't settle for anything less than a 30 x 20 mesh, we've tested alternatives such as 20 x 20 and these will not keep midges out.

If the situation requires a stronger mesh, we also offer a stainless steel option. This mesh provides excellent longevity, airflow and visibility.

With a neat, strong powder coated aluminium frame, these screens are perfect for windows, sliding sashes, fanlights and roof lights. You can choose a White or Anthracite frame and we also offer a colour coating service if you need to match a specific RAL colour.

Hinged fixings allow easy opening and closing, with the option to lift off for cleaning. Magnetic fixings make it easy to fit and remove as often as required.

This screen represents an excellent investment if you're looking for a good long-term solution rather than a cheap short-term fix. The frames will last for many years and the mesh can be easily replaced if needed.

The kit is supplied with all necessary screen materials, fixings, a spline tool for fitting the mesh and a set of instructions. Most importantly - we are the end of the phone if you need some help.

Please note: To make this screen you will need to mitre-cut the aluminium frames using a mitre box and good hacksaw or preferably a mitre saw so we would not recommend this kit for DIY beginners. If DIY is not for you, we have a made to measure option which can be selected below.

How does this screen work?

It's a bit like a picture frame but with mesh instead of a picture. The frame lengths are mitre cut to size and fitted together with internal metal corners to make the screen frame, the mesh is then fitted using a spline tool.

The frame is placed directly onto the window frame surrounding your window opening to create a seal between the back of the screen and the window frame and the mesh does the rest. Your chosen fixing holds the screen in place.
